A Brief History

The journey of MTs Arrukhshatul 'Ulum began in 2003. In its inaugural year, the institution operated under the auspices of another established madrasah. However, driven by a vision for independence and growth, MTs Arrukhshatul 'Ulum officially stood on its own as an autonomous educational institution in 2004.

The school’s foundation was born out of a profound social necessity. At the time, the local community faced a significant educational gap; existing secondary schools were located far from the residential areas. This geographical barrier, coupled with high transportation and tuition costs, unfortunately, forced many primary school graduates to discontinue their education.

Witnessing this challenge, Mr. Endang Rukmana took a transformative initiative to establish a school that was accessible to everyone. To ensure that no child was left behind due to financial constraints, the school implemented a "No Tuition Fee" (Gratis SPP) policy. This was a vital lifeline for the local residents, most of whom worked as farm laborers with limited economic means.

What started as a local mission has since grown beyond its borders. In the early years, the student body consisted entirely of children from the immediate neighborhood. Today, as the school’s reputation for accessibility and dedication has flourished, MTs Arrukhshatul 'Ulum proudly welcomes students not only from the local vicinity but also from across various sub-districts, and even from other regencies and cities.

MTs Arrukhshatul 'Ulum continues to stand as a beacon of hope, proving that distance and economic status should never be an obstacle to a child's right to education.
